Privacy Policy

1. Data We Collect
When you use Estimate Guardian, we collect:
- Email address — Used solely for delivering your report and any refund communications.
- Uploaded estimate files — The PDF or image of your repair estimate. Used for analysis only.
- Vehicle information — Year, make, model, and mileage as provided by you or extracted from the estimate.
- Payment information — Processed securely by Stripe or BTCPay Server. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or cryptocurrency wallet addresses.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To process your estimate through our AI analysis pipeline
- To deliver your report via web link and email
- To process payments and refunds
- To improve our service using anonymized, aggregate data
- To detect and prevent abuse or fraud
3. Data Retention
- Uploaded files — Automatically deleted 90 days after upload.
- Raw extracted text — Deleted with the uploaded file at 90 days.
- Analysis results — Retained indefinitely in anonymized form for building aggregate pricing databases. All PII is stripped.
- Email addresses — Deleted upon request.
- Payment records — Retained as required by law and accounting requirements.
4. No Tracking on Report Pages
We do not use third-party analytics pixels, advertising trackers, or ad-tech cookies on report pages. Our web analytics are privacy-respecting and server-side only. We do not build advertising profiles from your data.
5. No Data Sales
Your individual estimate data is never sold to third parties. Only anonymized, aggregate data (e.g., average brake pad replacement costs by region) may be used internally or licensed to partners to improve pricing accuracy.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate:
- Supabase — Database and file storage hosting
- Anthropic (Claude API) — AI analysis processing
- Stripe — Card payment processing
- BTCPay Server — Self-hosted cryptocurrency payment processing
- Resend — Transactional email delivery
- Sentry — Error monitoring (no PII transmitted)
7. Your Right to Delete
You have the right to request full deletion of all your data at any time. Email support@estimateguardian.com with your report link or email address, and we will delete all associated data within 30 days.
8. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS). Uploaded files are stored with private access controls. We follow security best practices including webhook signature verification, rate limiting, and input validation.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
